The End of February

As our lives slow down, we have come to love our new home. Paradise Valley is by far the most beautiful place either of us have lived. We've been able to set up our container home to our liking, and Stuart even bought a car! His new little Subaru was a happy addition to the family. Even though he will be taking Ned (the Subaru) back to Seattle to sell, we enjoyed the cassette tape player and old car feel we were able to experience.

I have been looking for jobs. Part of the reason we love our new home is that it is small and homey. But, that quaint effect also makes it hard to find a high paying job. I temporarily settled on a small bakery in town. The pay isn't very good, but it's fun to work for a small, family owned, business. Fingers crossed I'm able to find something a bit higher paying in the new few weeks!

Another part of our lives that has seemed to fall into place since our move here has been friends. Stuart had the luck of running into some of his college friends. They have been incredibly nice and inclusive, allowing us to tag along on some of their adventures. We have enjoyed getting to know other couples our age. Stuart took off today for Seattle, for the infamous bachelor party for his brother. He will be back Tuesday, and then I'm off for Mexico on the 14th. March is a busy month for us, but it will be nice to see our families and continue to explore the new home we love so much.

More updates as they come :)

Our new house!

Well, we are here. We spent a few nights in hotels as we waited for our house to be ready. We found an incredible little place at Pine Creek Lodge just south of Livingston. We are a ways from Bozeman, but man, the valley we are in is beautiful, and we couldn't have found a better deal for housing. Our house is a large shipping container. It came with furniture, utilities, tv, and wifi. Everything we needed! And, they are super pet friendly (which, lets admit, is the most important thing!).

We have been cozy in the cabin, using our days to explore the area, go on nice walks, settle into our house, and find a Crossfit gym. Our little lodge has trivia nights on Wednesdays, live music at brunch on Saturdays, and movie Sundays. We couldn't be happier. We can only stay till the middle of May, but we are enjoying it while we can. More updates to come as our lives keep rollin!

Jackson Hole (yep, again!)

We are on our way to Bozeman! We decided to stop at Jackson Hole one last time to use our last day on the mountain. We lucked out with the snow. It seems that when we are not explicitly going somewhere (on purpose) the snow treats us well. Otherwise, it's been hard to find good snow. The day was perfect. We took the tram to the top of the mountain and at the world famous Corbiet's Cabin. They only serve waffles and we figured out why, they were amazing!

The powder was glorious and weather was great, cold but great. We spent the evening watching the Olympics, eating pizza, and enjoying the hot tub at our campground. A great topper to our winter adventures. While we are still adventuring, we are much more grounded, finally able to head up to Bozeman to settle down a bit.

Moab

Back in the desert! I could not be more thrilled. I can finally break out my Chacos. Of course, Stuart has been kicking himself for not bringing his. I was excited to show Stuart Moab. I've spent quite a bit of time here, but Stuart had never been. We camped on the Colorado River, sandwiched between steep rising red rocks. Not far from town, we explored a bit. Stuart's favorite was the giant rock and fossil shop that we found. Even though we didn't go into to Arches National Park, we explored the rocks a little. Stuart wanted to see the "Lion's Back" rock structure, so we were able to do that. I also showed Stuart the giant sandhill I climbed as a kid. By far my most favorite feature of Moab. We only passed through, spending a night in our sweet campsite. Not far from SLC, we headed back up the following day in search of snow again!
